Pits and fissures

I bet most of you have experienced this. Discolouration of pits and fissures are the indication of caries development. Apart of brushing and flossing, there is a preventive procedure that should be done to protect teeth from decays. It is called "Fissure Sealant".

Recently I had my dental check-up at Klinik Pergigian Syarifah (Jalan Teluk Sisek, Kuantan branch) and requested for 3 right-lower molar teeth fissures sealed. After being consulted with Dr Yusmijan (a very soft-spoken and handsome dentist. muwehehe), I agree for the procedure. He did a very good job. I can't barely see my pits and fissures. I was a very happy and satisfied client :)

Cost: RM 15 for consultation, RM 165 for 3 molar teeth fissure sealant.

I wanted my other 3 left-lower molars sealed too (am I being addicted?). Haha. So, I went to another branch of Klinik Pergigian Syarifah located at Indera Mahkota 8. I had scaling and polishing first before I get my sealant applied. Differ from yesterday's, my satisfaction level of Dr Ain's work was just fair. I still could see my previous brownish fissures and pits through the sealant. But, after made a payment, perhaps, I should be thankful. She charged me half the price of the procedures done yesterday, and free consultation fee. Haha. So, I should stop complaining.

Cost: RM 85 for scaling and polishing, RM 100 for 3 molar teeth fissure sealant.
You may call 019-7794161 for an appointment, but don't be surprised if the receptionist can't answer your inquiries. I bet she was very new to dentistry terms. She had no idea when I said that I want to know the cost of fissure sealant. In fact, during the procedure, when Dr Ain asked her to prepare the sealant, she was a bit blur. Ngeh ngeh ngeh.

Paling sedih bila berhenti solat kat mana-mana surau, masa buka anak tudung sebab nak ambil wuduk, semua makcik nenek bagai memandang Beta macam nampak hantu. Segan, sedih, malu, semua ada lah. Kadang kadang malas nak layan. Tapi terguris juga hati ini.

Finally, setelah bercita cita untuk memiliki rumah sejak tahun lepas, Beta singgah di Kuantan Parade untuk melihat pameran rumah sempena MAPEX 2014. (Sebelum ini macam takut takut je nak usha rumah. Kurang keyakinan diri gamaknya).
Berkenan lah kat beberapa rumah. Siap dengar sales executives setiap booth yang terkenan tu berceramah. Semangat oi! Maka, Beta pun bawa pulang lah beberapa flyers yang menarik minat untuk memiliki suatu hari nanti.

Banyaknya. Rambang mata.

1. Bandar Putra Fasa 2 (freehold, tapi design bumbung dia peliks sikit)
2. The Radiance Indera Mahkota (mahal tapi latest design, cantik weh)
3. Armada Bayumas Indera Mahkota 2 (agak mahal, design biasa. lokasi tip top)
4. The Trends, Sg Soi (konsep tu cantik, tapi lokasi kurang memberangsangkan)
5. Kota Sas Lakeside 1 (yang ini ambil pamplet kat sales gallery sebab ada satu unit je tinggal. rezeki Beta mungkin? Insyaallah)

Ingat nak balik KL dalam masa terdekat tunjuk kat Mummy dan Babah. Mintak pendapat diorang :)

The day I lost my precious wisdom tooth

It has been 2 sleepless nights with combined analgesics abuse. Working morning shifts without enough sleep made my life more miserable. And with that sharp, shooting pain with sometimes like an electrical shock directly originates from my upper left gum radiating to left jaw and causing head-banging-ache, I need a cure. I really wanted to see a dentist, but it was about to happen on weekend.

I can't stand the pain anymore. Right after finishing my morning shift, with my uniform still on, I rushed to Klinik Kesihatan Bandar Kuantan for a dental checkup. I was told by nurses at the counter that only male dentists are available at that particular time. While waiting for my turn, I was hoping that I would be attended by a handsome dentist, it is a kind of therapeutic effect to kill off my anxiety. Hehehe. Gatal!

And guess what? I really got a very handsome, polite, good-looking dentist, as I wish. Hehehe. I told him that I never had any dental caries, orthodontic problems, and what so ever. Then he asked me to smile and said, "Wah cantiknya gigi dia...". I was kembang a bit. Hahahaha. After taking history and inspection, he found that there was something "not so normal" is happening on my wisdom tooth no.8 upper left quadrant. Oh, that was so embarrassing. He suggested that it will be helpful if he take out the tooth. Without spending much time, I agreed.

At first, he injected a local anesthesia on my gum, and let the drug taking place for about 10 minutes. And at 3.45pm, my precious no.8 wisdom tooth on my upper left jaw has been extracted. I only felt a needle-like pricking on my gum during the application of anesthesia. And when he pulled out the tooth, I experiencing zero pain. He then told me to remember the date that I lose my tooth. Hehehehe. Thank you handsome dentist for your gentle and caress procedure.

Who told you that government dental clinic is bad? And I was charged RM 2.00 for the registration and procedure fees. If I brought my GL, they will charged me RM 0.

And now, the beginning of my grieving, for losing my precious wisdom tooth.

2013 begins~

2012 left with lots of bitter-sweet memories.

Welcoming 2013 with new hopes and resolutions.

There are various way people celebrating New Year's Eve.
Some choose to be at home, spent time with families and loved ones.
Some choose to attend religious activity for spiritual approach.
Some choose to hang out with friends - BBQ, concerts, countdown.
Some choose to capture precious moments of countdown and the fireworks!
Hehehehe..
And lots more...

But for me, I never celebrate new year. At 0000 hours of 01.01.2013, I was eating fried rice, alone!
Hahahahahaha...

No matter how we celebrate the new year, just remember, every year comes, times count!
We are getting older, so we have to be wiser.
Be a better person, learn from experience and mistakes, and keep motivated to live your life to the fullest :)

Day 2 of Raya Aidiladha. I requested for day off but my ward Sister doesn't approve. That means, it has been 4 years in a row I celebrate my birthday working. Hahaha. This is not funny ay~ And my Kanda had to cancel his plan to visit me in Kuantan. :'(

Still working, in a.m. shift. After work, I took my bath and get ready to meet my Kanda. He came to Kuantan tau. Having our late lunch at ECM. Following our plan, we went to Pantai Balok for photoshoot session until Maghrib time and he had his prayer at a mosque near Sg. Karang.
Then we start our tough journey back to KL. Why do I mentioned the word "tough"?
That is because he had to drive for 7 hours from 8pm till 3am to reach my home :'(
Sorry~
Previously, Mummy and Babah were preparing dinner for both of us. Since we don't manage to get home earlier because of traffic jam all along LPT, so I told them to have a sleep first. When we reached home, I found that my parents were awake, and welcoming him for our very late supper. Hehehehehe. Mummy had tapau Malacca traditional dish originally made in Masjid Tanah that afternoon - Masak Tempoyak Daun Kayu, Asam Pedas Ikan Cencaru, and Masak Rempah Daging. What a coincidence, that I just told him about the Masak Tempoyak one week before, and finally he has to eat the lauk. Hahahahahahaha.
At first, I found he looked funny, but after Mummy offered him to tambah nasi for second round, then I know that he already fell in love with that Masak Tempoyak Daun Kayu. Hehehehehehe...
Babah had a serious basic personal discussion with him. But still, I don't know what were they talking about. Hal lelaki lah kot.

And they are my late birthday gift :)

I came back from work late that I've had my lunch at 3.30pm, consuming a set of egg sandwich and a bottle of iced lemon tea. At around 4pm, I suddenly felt abdominal cramp-like at my epigastric region, then I decided to take a shower and have a nap. I woke up at 10pm when I felt pain over my umbilical region. I thought it was due to gas or whatever. So, I skipped my dinner and continue sleeping.

It's like a nightmare when I dream of having a laparotomy with a PCA Morphine post op. Oh.. When I'm awake at around 10am, my whole abdomen cramp! Like a coliky pain that I can't nearly bear when I tried to get up from bed. It was so pain when I turn my body, when I bend my right leg. I wonder, Oh Allah, what had happened to me? I took more than an hour to get off from bed and took my shower. It was so hard for me to even wear my undies because I have to bend my right leg. I cried myself alone. No one present at my rent house at that time. My mind was wondering perhaps my colon was twisted or obstructed. But seems I have no vomiting, or diarrhea, I have no idea what else could the pain arise from. Moreover, I am from medical department, and abdominal pain is something associated with surgical thingy. I packed my bag, with some toiletteries, and clothes, make up myself to hospital. I can't imagine how pain I experienced the first time I got into my car and it was more pain when I want to get off from the car seat. I cried again.

I reached HTAA A&E department at around 4pm, and as usual, privileged as a staff to get the fast lane. Most of the HOs there knew me and based from my history, they would suggest it is APPENDICITIS until confirmed by abdominal examination where I felt rebound tenderness on palpation over Mc Burney's point which is located at the right lower quadrant near right illiac fossa region (Rovsing's sign). Ok, that was the most pain I've ever had. Other signs and symptoms were guarding behaviour due to pain, anorexia and loss of appetite, psoas sign, and low grade fever. An abdominal x ray done, branula set up with IV drip maintenance, I was admitted to the 3rd class female surgical ward. I called my ward sister that I was admitted and unable to attend my night shift. The staff nurse of the ward was so busy allocating me to 1st class, and at last they transferred me out to the 2nd class ward as the 1st class was full. As usual, it took times for doctor to see you in the ward unless you are put in general ward where there were so many HOs and MOs. The periphery Surgical HO first clerked my case nearly 7pm. Seen by MO at 9.30pm, where she perform a painful PR and another abdominal palpation. Specialist from UIAM attended my at 10.30pm, and suggested my appendicitis may be perforated. He cancelled other 3 surgical cases that night to allow my case to be posted as emergency op. Haha. A Urine Pregnancy Test (UPT) is required for any female patient who will undergo surgical procedure involving abdomen. I sent my urine sample late, because of the pain I can't bear. My watch showed 11.50pm, my sister have to go back to hostel as she need to wake up very early for work tomorrow. So bored that I fell asleep awaiting for my case to be called. Haha.

A staff nurse woke me up at around 12.50am. Changed to OT attire and cap, and pushed to OT. An anesthesia MO, Dr Lai got my written consent and explain regarding General Anesthesia (GA) procedure. I know I will be intubated, ventilated, and sedated. But my anxious just gone as I fell so sleepy like under drug abuse. Hahaha!!! What I could recall is when I been transferred to OT table, it was so cold. Was given oxygen via mask, and somebody put something-like-cool-pad over my left popliteal and I just fell asleep.
The operation took place from 1.30am to 4.45am.

It's 7.40 am when I woke up and my 2 night shift-supposedly-colleague visited me, I could not voice out, my larynx was so pain, then I fell asleep again. I fully awake at nearly 11am when my colleagues visited me, help me to ambulate on bed by elevating the head rest so that I could sit in prop up position. I was totally forgot what happened after the procedure. The staff nurse said, I was so restless and agitated post intubation, and keep complaining of nausea and severe headache. Huhu. My parents came from KL. I was so happy at that time. I've seen by the specialist from UIAM that attended me last night, inspected my wound and spray over with Opsite Spray. Oh! It was so pain and pain and pain! Usually the Wound Inspection (WI) will be done on post op day 3 while mine was on the op day, 7 hours post op! Oh my :'(

I tried to ambulate by walking at 2pm. Yeay! Alhamdulillah I could make it :D

I was discharged from the ward at 5.30pm. MC until 31st May. Lepaking at my sister's hostel while waiting for Babah to pick me up the day after.

Babah came to Kuantan by bus and brought me home with my Encem. Resting my mind, body, and soul - hoping for full recovery :D
